What does the abbreviation SUI 89 stand for?
The first Leggero cycle trailer was manufactured by Brüggli in 1989.The trailer is a Swiss (SUI) product.
What is the purpose of the red strips at the side?
The design of the Vento is based on sailing.These strips are called “telltales” and show the direction of the wind.
What colours are available?
The Vento is available only in white.According to road traffic studies, white is the best colour in terms of visibility.
Functionality
What type of suspension is used?
The Vento has separate suspension under each seat.The tyre pressure provides additional passive suspension.
What type of belt system is used?
The Vento is provided with a 5-point belt system.
How many children can be carried in the Vento?
Either one or two children can be carried.The seats are individually removable and when carrying just one child, the seat can be positioned centrally.
Is there space for luggage?
The Vento has a large amount of stowage space behind the seats.
Is the trailer collapsible?
Yes, the sides of the trailer can be folded up and the towbar can be removed.The wheels can also be easily removed (quick release).
What about tyres etc.?
The Vento has tyres and inner tubes. Schwalbe tyres possible, dimensions:20 x 1.75” 47-406

Is the metal rustproof?
Yes, the metal components are made from aluminium. The bolts and rivets are also made from aluminium or steel.
What material is the base made from?
The base consists of an anodised aluminium tray.
What is the braking system for the trailer?
The Vento is stopped by the braking system of the towing cycle.There is also a parking brake for when the trailer is stationary.
Is the Leggero Vento certified to relevant safety standards?

Can the trailer be fitted to any bike?
Yes, with the relevant coupling system (universal coupling, hub coupling, nexus coupling, rear kick stand, Dutch coupling).If you’re not sure which coupling will fit your bike, please click the following link to our website: http://www.leggero.com/product_info.php?products_id=354 Then click “Determining the coupling” where you'll find instructions on photographing your bike. The standard equipment includes the tray, wheels, towbar, 2 individual seats, sides, summer cover, flag, cushioned backrest, reflectors (front and rear as well as side ones on the wheels), universal coupling.

General questions
For which ages should the infant seats be used?
Infants between the ages of approx. 4 months and 1 year (up to approx. 9 kg) can be put in the infant seat.
From what age can I transport my child in the Leggero without an infant seat?
From the time that the child can sit up independently and their neck muscles are sufficiently well developed (approx. 1 year old).
Can you also jog and inline skate with the trailer?
Yes, a special jogger set is available as an accessory.
Can you ride with an open cover.
This is not recommended!There is the risk of your child being hurt from flying stones.
Does the child have to wear a cycle helmet?
The wearing of a helmet is not a legal requirement but we recommend that children in the trailer should wear a cycle helmet.
Is a “Velo-Vignette” required in Switzerland for the trailer?
No, the trailer is covered by the “Velo-Vignette” insurance.
What should I do in terms of cleaning and servicing the trailer?
The textile parts of the trailer can be machine-washed at 30° C.Make sure that the trailer is always completely dry when you store and fold it up.
The metal parts are non-rusting and do not require any additional maintenance.Check the towbar and coupling regularly for cracks or other damage.The trailer should be checked thoroughly every two years by a suitably qualified person.

What are the delivery charges?
Delivery charge for the complete trailer within Switzerland is CHF 30.00. Delivery charge to Germany and Austria is EUR 30.00.Details of other countries on request.
